What’s in it for moi?: Feel free to take liberty in the livery design to include your website or a website of your choosing (or a slogan, your name, et cetera). Think of it as traveling advertising.
Why?: I’m looking to expand the Ubertechnik brand. This car will be my track car while I work towards SpecE30 (or a similar series) in the next couple of years. It is very likely that the livery design of this car will carry over to the race car when we get to that point.
Comments:
The Ubertechnik color scheme is red, gray and white. Please adhere to this. Also, while the main theme will be Ubertechnik branding, I’m also open to working in a beer logo, preferably Chimay as it’s one of my favorite Belgians. I already have a slogan going on the back of the rear wing and I will also need my real name on the window. You can just put JML for now, that’s fine.

The contest will close on December 31st, 2006. Then a week of voting will begin. I will pick the finalists and then a popular vote will be held to select the winner (note, this will be held both here and at Uber). I have sole discretion to pick a winner if OT decides to vote in a Goatse livery, or something like that.

Below you will find a blank template of an E30 M3 for mock-up and a real life picture of my car. I can take as many pics of my car as you would look. The only thing that isn’t accurate is that I have an Evo rear wing with gurney flap in transit and a rollbar as well. My car is “lachssilber” and I will not be changing the color of the car. Please make sure your mock-up is in that color.

Also, the blank template is not in super hi-resolution. If you want real life pictures of my car, just ask. I have several good cameras and can take anything you need. I will need any artwork in your final submission to be in as high a resolution as possible as it makes it easier for the vinyl place to keep it crisp when they blow it up. The more work they have to do to the artwork to keep things crisp, the more $ it costs me. Also, keep that in mind for colors. Use whatever and however many colors you want, but if you’ve ever done any design work in vinyl you know that solids, not gradients are the way to go.

Once a winner is chosen the mock-up will be sent to the design studio for mark-up in vinyl. Add a month or two for the vinyl to be finalized and installed and it will then be unveiled to the public.
